"... a lifetime of memories" "5 days back in North Carolina and I can safely say for "Me & My Gang" that our bodies may be here but our minds and spirits remain on Runamuk Ranch. The most common question of the week has been "how was your trip" and I'm still searching for the words that would even come close to describing it. In fact my standard answer now is that you can look at all the pictures and listen to us talk about it, but til you experience it, you'll never understand what it was like. I spent 26 years in the military for the pure love of travel but none of my overseas or stateside travels ever left me with that feeling that I had seen and experienced something truly remarkable. From that 1st night sitting under the Montana sky, viewing what the Supreme Architect of the Universe had created, until having to say goodbye on Sunday morning to those who seemed to have been life long friends cannot be conveyed adequately to other. You don't provide just a place to vacation you provide a retreat to renew the mind an soul and create a lifetime of memories and experience." Gene Mauldin, North Carolina "Toby and Jody Dahl can do it all. They know how to entertain the oldest to the youngest person who visits their ranch. I am 38 years old and I came with my dad who is 75 years old. We were both catered to and got to do exactly what our hearts desired, we felt as comfortable at the ranch as if we were at home. I wanted to get as much horse back riding in as I could and I did just that. There is so much beautiful scenery, it was just overwhelming. We ate and ate and ate very delicious food; we separated cattle on horseback, and as a bonus we saw some amazing lightening storms. The vacation was exactly what we had dreamed of and we would love to come back again. This small comment doesn't do justice to how much fun we both had." Rhonda Davidson & Ken Lowry, OR. "I miss your golden meadows, gray rimrocks, and unbounded
sky. I often pause in my hectic day and recall cantering across the high
golden meadow while a herd of horses graze in the distance under the incredibly
blue sky, and wish I were there again. Your house feels like home; it is
a warm and relaxing place to relax after the day's adventures. You and Toby
could not have been more perfect hosts. The food was always delicious, and
the discussions interesting. I learned so much about an area of the country
so different from my home. It was so much fun learning to drive cattle...how
to move them from one pasture to another, how to move my horse to make them
do what I wanted. My husband really enjoyed learning to drive a wagon with
a two-horse team. That is something I never imagined him trying-much less
enjoying so much! Riding with Toby was the best for me, he knows so much
about his land, its history and its future. He knows the habits of the elk
and deer, as well as the other animals that cross his land as well as being
conscious of proper stewardship in managing the herds--both wild and domestic.
Toby has such a quiet way about him, the ability to teach without lecturing.
It makes you hang onto his every word! Jody, you are the perfect hostess,
you are so comfortable to be with as well as an excellent cook. It was so
thoughtful of you to make me creme brulee for my birthday! In short, you
treated me like a friend." Susan, AL Please contact us for more references.
