High Performance Horsemanship

"Building Confident Horses Through Confident Riders"

e

The Trexler family history in Montana stretches back 5 generations where horses have not only been the passion, but the obsession. With a deeply rooted tradition and Reed's desire to maintain it, he has taken this affinity to the next level--High Performance Horsemanship. As the top clinician at Runamuk Guest Ranch, Reed works with guests one on one to help them fine-tune their horsemanship skills, cattle handling skills, and confidence. Reed helps you establish the skills needed to gain trust and communicate with your horse and cattle.

Reed believes a horse should travel and guide with no resistance allowing the rider to be in complete control at all times. Each generation found that in order to successfully run the cattle on the ranch, a solid horse was a necessity. Therefore, the advancement of a training program was essential. Reed realizes that each horse & rider possess varying abilities; therefore, adjusts his program to meet their specific needs. "It's important that one does not become too locked on to one philosophy or the goal can be lost. Keep in mind the big picture while taking incremental steps. "[Reed]. By doing this, each horse is given the opportunity to perform at full potential.  He accredits his knowledge and techniques to his generational foundation and to training with some of the greatest horsemen over the years.

"Reed has a knack with horses, he has a calming influence on them in a positive and productive way," Pat Cremer, ranch owner. "Without over-complicating things, Reed's ability to convey horsemanship methods supercedes those we've experienced. He posseses the ability to explain horsemanship and cattle handling so any level of rider can begin to apply his methods," Kate Matheson, guest UK. Reed uses this talent in training his own animals as well as working with his clients.

From his pro-rodeo days riding rough stock to training with the best in the industry to owning his own working cattle ranch in the Bitterroot Valley, Reed implements his High Performance Horsemanship program. Here, he is consistently refining and advancing his methods. "What is important is what works for the horse"; and his goal is to help horses and people reach their full potential--create confident horses through confident riders.

While based at his ranch in the Bitterroot Valley, Reed commissions to outside ranches helping them to create a solid horse program. Reed's focus is on Reined Cow Horses and Cutting Horses as he also travels Montana competing in the arena.

Reed will ride side by side with you to increase your performance on the back of a horse; thus increasing the performance of the horse.
